Deepika Padukone’s jewellery in Bajirao Mastani costs Rs 5 crore!
In fact, in one scene alone — where she is addressing Ranveer Singh’s Peshwa in the courtyard — she is wearing jewellery worth Rs 48 lakh!
Her exquisite jewellery has been designed by Delhi-based jewellers called Shri Hari Diagems, a-226 year old establishment.
“The team of Bajirao Mastani happened to visit our shop in Delhi and liked the stuff we create,” says store co-owner Vinay Gupta. “They took some of our jewellery pieces to Mumbai to show it to Sanjayji (Sanjay Leela Bhansali, director). He loved it, and we were on board immediately.”
Shri Hari Diagems has been dealing with antique jewellery for six generations and use the techniques of the Mughal era to create the pieces.
